Continental GP5000 Clincher Tyre

To improve on something that many feel is near perfect is a tough ask, yet Continental has achieved this with the GP5000 Clincher Tyre. Boasting 12% lower rolling resistance, 20% better puncture protection, and a 10-gram lower weight in the 25c width, compared to the Grand Prix 4000S II, comfort is significantly improved, and you can expect faster times and smoother rolling. Be it racing or training, this tyre is a great choice and is packed with technology.

Take corners at high speeds in complete confidence, thanks to Lazer grip technology – a micro profile structure that expands over the tyre’s shoulders. BlackChili compound is responsible for the supreme grip, low rolling resistance and improved longevity so you can enjoy these tyres mile after mile. Revolutionary Active Comfort Technology damps vibration to smooth out the roughest roads, while a Vectran breaker is tear-resistant and will ensure more time on the road and less making repairs. All this comes in a lightweight package, with the 25c coming in at just 215 grams.

Continental GP5000S TR Road Tyre

Already with Paris-Roubaix and World Time Trial wins under its belt, Continental’s GP5000S TR Road Tyre is an impressive improvement on the renowned original GP5000. It is stronger, lighter and faster than before as well as now offering hookless rim compatibility.

The GP5000S TR still offers fantastic grip thanks to the BlackChili rubber compound and the lasered micro profile structure of the tread surface whilst the flexible Vectran layer provides excellent protection against punctures without spoiling the ride quality or speed. In fact, Continental claims that the tyre is 20% faster rolling than the previous version.

Compatibility with tubes or tubeless and hooked or hookless rims allows the tyre to be used with a huge variety of rims for maximum choice.

Continental GP5000 All Season TR Road Tyre

The latest in Continental’s Grand Prix 5000 range, this All Season TR Road Tyre is more robust, more grippy in the wet and offers better protection against punctures in comparison to the GP5000 S TR. Available in four widths, it’s designed to deliver reliable performance throughout the year, making it an excellent choice for the winter bike as well as for putting in the summer miles.

Four-ply 110tpi sidewalls create a good barrier to damaging debris, the tread rubber is thicker than before, maximising longevity, and a Vectran breaker uses high-tech fibres for exceptional tear resistance. Durability is still balanced well with performance though; this tyre is still fast and the tubeless construction reduces rolling resistance.

Active Comfort Technology reduces the transfer of road vibrations to the rider, while a Lazer Grip profile, which expands over the tyre’s shoulder, improves cornering. Continental has made some small but significant changes to the BlackChilli II Compound, which is now even more grippy, for increased confidence at speed and on wet roads.
