Current Workshop Charges.

These are set out at the bottom of this page, and are a palette from which we can select the most cost effective way to book the work on your bike.

How do I know what needs doing?

We need to talk to you about the history of the bike and what level of use you are intending in order to best advise you.

To give you an accurate estimate or fixed quote we need to see your bike – there is no cost or obligation for us to look at and assess your bike.

How much will it cost?

Most jobs can be accommodated within our service schedules, but some may have to be charged at out Hourly rate or part thereof – if so charges will be per quarter hour block.

There are no hidden “extras” such as “ lubes”, “admin” or “VAT” – just what you see!

How quickly will it be done?

We always endeavor to turn repairs as quickly as possible, and subject to parts availability your bike should be ready within 5 working days. In peak times our workshop gets very busy so consider pre- booking if possible.

We have a priority puncture repair service – see the rates below.

Asking us nicely and bringing doughnuts (Waitrose or Sainsbury preferred) for the workshop staff will always help your urgent repair to be prioritized.

We usually have two mechanics working every day, including Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Rates and Terms for fitting Customer Supplied Parts.+

Modern bikes can be very complex and incompatibility of parts is a common cause of poor function. Additionally, if we fit parts supplied by you, the line of responsibility in the event of an unsatisfactory repair or any warranty claim can become unclear.

In order to minimise any such problems, we will inspect and check the parts you have supplied to us for any obvious incompatibility, or damage, before we commence work. We charge for our time spent on this process.

Some incompatibility problems can only be ascertained during the fitting of parts, and in this case we will stop work and contact you. We reserve the right to charge for any extra time spent resolving any issues.

Inspect parts for repair / bike build

Guide time for full build - 3 to 5 hours.

Charged at workshop rate –

Per quarter hour, or part thereof.

+ For Insurance reasons we cannot fit child seats, trailer bikes or Trailgator unless supplied new by us.

Rates and Terms for assembly / checking build on Customer supplied new Bikes

To function properly and to achieve the optimum lifespan of the components, a cycle requires complete and proper assembly before use. Just bolting it together from the box will not be sufficient to achieve this, and may leave the cycle unsafe to use.

If you ask us to assemble or check the assembly of a newly supplied bike we will check all of the bike, and this may require some disassembly. To achieve a good result we may have to renew some brake and gear inner and outer cables.

We will not undertake small adjustments or any part- work to such cycles.

To ensure ongoing function we recommend a further check about 6 weeks later.

Check / build bike supplied by Mail Order ^

£ 34 minimum

TBA at time of booking

^ Please Note: With your interests in mind, please be aware that if we work on your newly supplied cycle without asking the original supplier to rectify faults first, you may void any warranty you have with the supplier.
These prices are valid at 1st January 2010, and may be subject to change without notice
