About UsBased in Tonbridge, Kent, Cycle Ops is one of the premier bike shops in the region. ************************************ NEWS! ***************************************** Location, and our customersAs well as serving our local area of Tonbridge, Edenbridge, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and Paddock Wood, we have customers who come to us from as far afield as Ashford, Canterbury, the Medway Towns, Orpington, Bromley and Croydon in South London, Hastings, Crowborough, and East Grinstead in Sussex and Surrey and even over the water from Essex. These people tell us they made the journey in the first place to see one of the many specialist products we stock, but that they then continue to make the journey due to our comprehensive range of clothing and accessories. Many become Club Card members, and we then also serve them by mail order ongoing. Our workshop is popular with those from further afield, and we go the extra mile wherever possible to turn bikes around to save them a return journey – this is especially true with any 1st services to new bikes. . We continue to work hard to ensure a visit to our shop is worth the trip, stocking up-to-the-minute kit, specialist items and a comprehensive range of quality bikes from top brands and specialist manufacturers - check out our main pages to see our stock bikes. Although we carry good stock, it’s well worth phoning or emailing first to check we have what you want in stock – it can then be reserved for you on our collection shelf. The Shop"It's a Tardis of a shop…" a customer exclaimed the other day, and this probably best describes the place. The small High Street frontage and the tiny Bank Street door belie the cavernous interior, with over 2,500 square feet of bike displays, walls of accessories and the modern "open-to-view" workshop. We stock bikes from top brands, ranging from pavement cycles to top end road and mountain bikes, and a wide range of accessories from leading brands. With over 100 bike models on display and probably the widest range of accessories you will see in a bike shop – we try to give you plenty of choice. We can set upo a test ride for you - and this can be for a basic hybrid through to a top end carbon road bike. Bike try outs are by appointment only (so we can get the right bikes in place for you to try) and you will get the undivided attention of one of our staffers during the sales consultation. The WorkshopOur modern, open-to-view workshop has three work stations, a specialist wheel building stand, and is fully equipped with all the tools needed to enable us to work on almost any bike, frame or sub-assembly. Our dedicated mechanics have a wealth of know-how and experience of cycle repair accumulated over many years, and our “Shimano Service Centre” status assures you of our quality and expertise. Cycle-ops is one of the highest qulified workshops in the country, a registered Shimano Service Centre - with every full time staffer a qualified mechanic. Look at the Workshop page for more information. Hire Bikes. If you want to hire a bike, we have a Hire Bike fleet of comfort MTBs from Trek and a number of kids' bikes, trailers, child seats and tagalongs. The Tonbridge to Penshurst Cycle Route starts almost from our Bank Street door, and makes a great ride of about a ten mile round trip - or just kick about in Haysden Country Park with the kids. Make a day of it and spend some time in Tonbridge, enjoying The Sports Ground, Swimming Pool, miniature Steam Railway and the medieval Castle. If you want to hire a bike and are in London it’s only a 40 minute train journey from Charing Cross or London Bridge, or you can easily drive to us via the A21 or M25. It’s only a short walk from the railway station, and there is plenty of local parking otherwise - which is FREE on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Why not make a short break of it, by booking a B&B or hotel and staying out for a night or two?
